About EUL

History

A shared European platform for underground RDI

EUL is a registered non-profit organisation connecting multipurpose underground facilities and the communities that use them for research, development, innovation, testing, education and demonstration.

From regional cooperation to a European association

EUL grew out of the Baltic Sea Underground Innovation Network (BSUIN), which improved the visibility, characterisation, and accessibility of underground laboratories for academic and business users. The follow-on Empowering Underground Laboratories Network Usage project continued this work in 2021 by developing services, customer relationships and a sustainable network model.
